Wilson Brothers Take Major Honours

FirstPoint USA Athletes Adam and Jordan Wilson have a pedigree when it comes to Soccer. Their father, Kenny Wilson played as a forward for a range of teams in Scotland so it's fair to say the pressure was high upon the brothers arrival in the States... but they certainly have delivered! Jordan joined the Kentucky "Wildcats" in 2013 and was an immediate success. In his first year at the university, the #5 was named in the Conference USA All-Tournament Team, and he quickly became a key member of the Wildcats defense. As is important with any of our clients, Jordan focused immensely on the academic side of his scholarship, so much so that he was named on the SEC academic honor roll as a freshman. Jordan was also ranked one of the top 10 defenders in men’s college soccer, a huge honor for such young player. Both brothers have had time in the Glasgow Rangers youth setup and that, alongside the obvious footballing pedigree has unsurprisingly shone through. More recently, Jordan was named on the All-Conference USA First Team for the third season in a row! To secure a spot in the first team is a remarkable achievement on its own but to show the level of talent and more important consistency he has is testament to his attitude and the support he has around him. Just over 100 miles away, midfielder Adam Wilson is making similar strides for his respective "Bearcats" in Cincinnati. The sophomore was named Midfielder of the Year and was picked in the First Team All-Conference side with several of his teammates making the second and all-rookie teams. Throughout his time in the States Adam has been known for his extreme creativity which subsequently ranked him in the Top 3 in the NCAA in assists per match and total assists, and tied for first in American play in the same categories. The Scotland native was named TopDrawerSoccer’s Men’s Player of the Week on Oct. 18 after scoring one goal and recording four assists over the course of two games against IUPUI and Temple, respectively.
