It’s a warm welcome to FirstPoint USA to Aaron Dargie who is the latest athlete to embark on one of the hundreds of soccer scholarships in the States. The Falkirk native aims to thrive on the soccer field upon his arrival in the US having played for the likes of Falkirk FC and Central Boys Academy with some success from a young age.

It will also strengthen my C.V and I have the flexibility to explore my academic interests before choosing my major. I can also experience a new culture”
Aaron told us that in 10 years’ time, he sees himself either as a soccer coach or running his own gym! We are confident that this is attainable given his evident talent and attitude towards a scholarship.
Callum Flinn from Bristol has also joined the FirstPoint USA family with intentions of playing soccer in the States. Callum actually started playing football in the US at the age of six so he has an idea of what it is like out there. The Bristol Manor FC star talked to us about his initial time in the USA and why he wants to go out there for a second time…
“I took in everything around me. I can remember what the classrooms were like, the fields, but most of all the teachers. They were so supportive and friendly and that was the main reason I settled so quickly. Regarding my hopes for the future, the distinction of the degree you can receive at the end of your studies is absolutely world class. FirstPoint USA have mentioned to me that a degree in the US is worth more than a degree in the UK, and this is one of the main reasons I wish to study over there. I want to make sure that at the end of my four years I come out as successful as possible, both in my academic and sporting life”
Callum has made it clear to us that he wants to play soccer professionally but has also stated that he knows that it is important to have a backup plan in case things don’t work out as planned which is the correct attitude to have!
[caption id="attachment_11024" align="aligncenter" width="576"] Welcome to FirstPoint USA Callum.[/caption]“I have been studying sport for the last two years at college, as that way I can use those qualifications to move on towards university, and the field that I am leaning towards the most is sports therapy/physiotherapy because I enjoy it the most”
Good luck to Aaron and Callum!
