Congratulations to FirstPoint USA client, Euan Brady, who has committed to a soccer scholarship at the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH). We recently caught up with Euan to hear how he found the process of obtaining his scholarship, what he is most looking forward to upon beginning his life as a student athlete, and his aspirations for the future.
Euan tells us that he wished to study in the US as he felt it was an excellent opportunity. It provided him with the chance to move away from home; meet new people from around the world; play soccer every day; and obtain a degree. Euan felt that this was too good an opportunity to pass down, and feels that studying in the US is something that will suit him well.
Euan tells us that throughout the course of obtaining his scholarship, he did find the process stressful at times. However, he added that once you receive offers from schools that you are interested in, it is all worthwhile.
With regards to choosing which school to attend, Euan stated that there were numerous reasons as the why he chose UNOH. He tells us, “I like the look of the university campus and the degrees they offer, but I was particularly attracted by the ongoing success of the soccer team who have performed very strongly over the last two seasons. UNOH also have great facilities, and are ranked very highly in the NAIA.”
Upon beginning his life as a student athlete, Euan tells us that he is most looking forward to having the opportunity to play soccer every day. Adding that he is also looking forward to meeting boys from all around the world, as UNOH is a team known to be full of different nationalities.
Finally, we asked Euan where he sees himself in 10 years time. He stated that he doesn’t know here he’ll be that far in the future, but hopes that within the next four years of playing soccer and studying business, he will have a clearer idea of where he wants to be.
